Angel Hayden - Canyon

Why Honored: Hayden had one of the most successful high school careers in Panhandle history, perhaps even the state. She finished her four years at Canyon High by winning District 3-5A Co-MVP honors, averaging 13.4 points a game.

Hayden led the Lady Eagles to their fourth straight state tournament, and fourth straight State Championship title. She scored a career-high 29 points in the state semifinal game, and 16 points, including the last 5 of the game, during the championship.

Hayden now plays for Texas Tech.

Quotable: "She was always at her best when we needed her the most. All the close games Angel would take control of the situation and usually lead us to victory. She always came up big in the fourth quarter. The neat thing about Angel is that she's the ultimate team player and will do whatever it takes for the team to win."
