Armando Lujan - Sunray High School

As a senior, Lujan led the Bobcats to a 12–1 record and a deep playoff run, culminating in a trip to the 2A Division I regional finals.​

Lujan shattered multiple state records, including:​ 

  • 14,600 career passing yards – surpassing the previous Texas high school record. ​ 
  • 231 total touchdowns, setting a new all-time state mark. ​
  • 1,047 career completions, tying the state record.

In the 2024 season alone, Lujan accounted for 5,275 total yards and 82 touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities as both a quarterback and defensive back.

His outstanding performance earned him the 2A Built Ford Tough Player of the Year award and recognition as a finalist for Dave Campbell’s Mr. Texas Football Player of the Year. ​ 

Lujan's achievements have not only brought pride to Sunray High School but have also set a new standard for excellence in Texas high school football.
