Austin Johnson - Palo Duro and University of Oklahoma
Why Honored: Johnson is arguably one of the best basketball players to come out of the Texas Panhandle. While at Palo Duro, Johnson was a four-year starter, three-time All-District 3-4A MVP, and two-time Texas Association of Basketball Coaches First Team All-State Selection.
Johnson continued his basketball career at the University of Oklahoma. While at Norman, he started all 36 games his senior year and helped lead the Sooners to the Elite Eight and an overall record of 30-6. Johnson was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Selection.
After college, Johnson continued his basketball career by playing professionally at BBC Nyon in Switzerland, Al Mouttahed Tripoli in Lebanon, and Applied Science University sports club in Jordan.
