Shahada Wells - Basketball

Wells, a graduate of Tascosa High School, averaged 21.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game in high school. He would eventually go on to play at Tyler Junior College, UT Arlington, and TCU before continuing his career at McNeese State University.

While playing at McNeese, Wells led the team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002 after scoring 27 points in the Southland championship game. He was named tournament MVP. During the season, Wells also racked up conference player of the week, national player of the week, Southland Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year honors.
