Hannah Stuart - Canyon High
Why Honored: Stuart paced Canyon to the Class 4A state title by winning both the 3200 and 1600 in Austin. She smashed the old record in the 3200, set 16 years ago, by 11 seconds. She won by 29 seconds - a huge amount at this level. She won the 1600 in 4:54.2, winning by 15 seconds. Stuart, a junior, was undefeated in these two events all season.
In 2024, Stuart repeated as state champion in both the 4A 3200 and 1600. She won the 3200 by an impressive 11 seconds and took the gold in the 1600 by finishing 1.2 seconds ahead of teammate Addyson Bristow. Stuart was the only area athlete who was a double state champion in track and has signed with Missouri to continue her running career.
